It is a unanimously acknowledged fact that a woman, no matter how simple is she, will certainly have a love for jewellery. For them jewellery is something that enhances their attractiveness. Women are by nature very conscious of their appearance. They are always interested in ornament to embellish their beauty.

Although, the taste may differ from country to country and people to people, but the fact is that they wont decline the urge of having wearing an ornament. In fact, they like to wear jewellery as often as they can. They look more confident of themselves.

In past there were different type of jewelleries, for instance, you may have encountered a woman wearing a necklace made of flowers or things like that. In fact, hardly ever you may come across a lady without any make up and any piece of jewellery or some type of ornament on her. Using flowers as an ornament is still the norm in many parts of the world.

All this emphasizes the same fact that women finds jewellery an integral part of their being and they rate it high, just the way they rate their clothes. This has always been so. Since ancient time women have found jewellery the most effective way to enhance her beauty and to make her confident of herself. Later jewellery also became a symbol of wealth and social status.

In many countries women are always eager to adorn themselves with gold jewellery. In fact, wealth and prosperity were regarded as gifts of God. For ancient rulers Pheraohs of Egypt gold had a special place not only to impress the subjects but also God. In India too, use of gold is associated with worship of God and religious functions. It is common for rich people to make their offering to Lord in gold.

Though in western countries too women like to be adorned with jewellery made of gold and silver, but that are supposed to be a bit expensive. In many advanced countries there is not so much charm for gold jewellery, and a middle class family will not like to invest a lot of money in such unproductive way. That is why people do not care if they can not afford them as it is not considered to be an essential part of a women attire.

But in India, and Pakistan, the price of gold does not deter women to yearn for more and more gold ornaments. Despite the fact that it may cost a lot of money, wearing some piece of jewellery is a must for a married women; however that can be in its smallest of forms like nose pins or earrings. At the time of marriage gold ornaments are compulsory part of bridal make-up and dowry. In fact, heavy purchasing of gold during marriage season lead to a significant rise in bullion prices every year.

As a whole, jewellery is and will remain a thing of joy for the women, no matter if they are wearing it as a symbol of their marriage or just for their own satisfaction.
