The lack of fertility may be very emotional and frustrating at times. With infertility, it is quite normal and comprehensible to have a pall of gloom, anger, frustrations, guilt for many couples. Now, there is happy news for couples who are not able to conceive. With advancement in sterilization and other fertility processes, many couples can now realize their dreams of having a baby.

Infertility is generally termed as an inability to become pregnant after one year of unprotected sexual intercourse. A large number of patients are receiving medical advice are benefiting from these processes.

The natural conception normally takes place in the fallopian tube of the woman. It is when the sperms enter and fertilize the egg, it results in embryo. The fertilized egg travels down the length of tube before resting in the uterus and get itself implanted in the endometrial linings. Once well implanted, the embryo starts growing and developing. And in case any condition of this natural process is affected, it leads to miscarriage or obstruction in pregnancy.

The natural conception is affected by two major factors. First if a woman has an ovulation disorder, in such condition, she releases eggs but not on a regular basis. Second is when there is any blockage of the fallopian tubes, it may again obstruct the passage of sperm to meet eggs. This problem can occur from prior pelvic functions or by other condition. These two are the most common reasons of female infertility; however, there might be other reasons that can lead to infertility.

Female infertility that is the inability to conceive is a common condition, but may not be confined to females only; it is associated with men as well. Men who have low sperm counts preclude the process of normal fertilization.

One of the most advanced measures being taken in solving the problem of infertility is in vitro fertilization commonly known as IVF and Tubal Reversal Surgery. In IVF, medications are provided to enhance the development of eggs. After the retrieval of multiple eggs, they are inseminated and the embryos are examined in the laboratory for 3-5 days. Lastly, the developing embryos are inserted into the mother’s uterus. After two weeks or so, the pregnancy can be detected.

There are many reasons that prompt couples to seek fertility specialists’ help. The most common being your inability to conceive even after trying for an extended period of time. After a year of try, consult a doctor. Perhaps you are not able to retain your pregnancy for long or it may be frequent miscarriages. For others there are not other options but to go for IVF or tubal reversal surgery.

Despite various causes, treatments are available for patients suffering from specific problems. Today, with advancement in medical science, sophisticated tools and modernized technology are used in the fertility treatment centers to cure the patients who are not able to conceive.

Since the birth of the first IVF baby, stupendous achievements have been made in the field of fertility. With these achievements many couples can conceive and achieve pregnancy and start a family.
